Aujourd’hui le mot du jour ce sont deux expressions familières : y aller mollo (to take it easy; to go easy ) et y aller franco (to go straight to the point; to be direct).

Exemple 1 :  « Je sais que tu n’est pas contente mais il est ne se sent pas très bien aujourd’hui. Donc vas-y-mollo avec lui. » “I know you’re angry but he doesn’t feel very well today. So go easy on him.”

Exemple 2 : Nous lui avons recommandé d’y aller mollo avant l’arrivée du bébé. We advised her to take it slowly before the baby arrives. 

Exemple 3 : Rien ne sert de tourner autour du pot. Mieux vaut y aller franco dans cette situation. There is no point in beating around the bush. It’s better to be direct in this case.
