Aujourd’hui nous commençons la semaine avec le verbe s’avérer (to prove to be, to turn out to be).

Exemple 1 : La construction du nouveau pont s’avère être plus longue que prévu par la municipalité.  The construction of the new bridge turned out to be longer than planned by the local authority. 

Exemple 2 : Les accusations contre son fils se sont avérées fausses. The accusations against his/her son proved to be wrong.
