Le Mot du Jour – gonfler

Bonjour,

Le mot d’aujourd’hui est le verbe gonfler (to inflate, to pump; to swell, to balloon; to bloat).

Exemple 1 : Je ne trouve pas la bonne pompe pour gonfler le matelas. I can’t find the pump to inflate the mattress.

Exemple 2 : Elle est tombée hier après-midi et sa cheville droite a gonflé pendant la nuit. She fell over yesterday afternoon and her right ankle swelled overnight.

Exemple 3 : Nous avons trop mangé. Nos ventres sont gonflés. We ate too much. Our tummies are bloated.
