Aujourd’hui il s’agit de l’expression verbale faire marche arrière (to reverse; to back out).
Exemple 1 : Sa voiture a été percutée alors qu’il faisait marche arrière sur le parking du supermarché. His car got hit as he was reversing on the supermarket car park.
Exemple 2 : Le gouvernement a fait marche arrière sur sa décision de limiter la vitesse à 30km/h. The gouvernement backed out of their decision to limit the speed to 30km/h.
